We help to develop the careers of the artists on our label, as well as N.I based acts in general, through our showcase gigs and compilation CDs. We are currently working closely with 3 N.I based acts - The Le Scenes, The Wonderful Toys and The Dregs - and are always on the lookout for new talent.
Some Musicbest projects include:
The release of 3 compilations of the best of grassroots N.I artists - the "Front Page" series, launched with a succession of shows in the popular Belfast live music venue, which has showcased over 50 acts.
The compiling of a "Who's Who?" of the Northern Ireland music scene, with information on more than 160 acts based in the province. This book is a vital and useful resource, and has proved extremely popular. It can be purchased through this website, and will be updated to include new information on a regular basis.
The Art Of Music. This is a new section of the Musicbest website which will showcase the artwork of musicians. We are planning to hold an exhibition of the best of the work later in the year.
2005 will be a big year for Musicbest, with many exciting projects in the pipeline - starting with a monthly series of showcase gigs in the Duke Of York in Belfast's Cathedral Quarter, which will be commencing soon. We will also be bringing our work into the worlds of football, film and radio - so stay tuned to this site for regular updates and details!
